Teacher Appreciation Week

The week of May 1st through the 5th of May, we will be celebrating our unsung heroes—OUR TEACHERS!!  Our teachers work tiressly through the day teaching and caring for our little ones.  We will be honoring them like the STARS they are with a Hollywood theme. Please see the flyer by the front desk for more information.

Mr. Ted, the Science Guy….

Have you met our famed Science Teacher, Mr. Ted? He is our resident Science Guy who teaches the children everything about Science. This week the children are focusing on hermit crabs and their habitat. He also spoke to the children about what hermit crabs like to eat, what their shells mean to them, and each child was able to view them through the hermit crabs’ special cage.

Last month, the children learned about absorption with seeds.  They planted seedlings and saw how the roots took hold and drank the water.  Each child was able to create their own dirt pod.  At the end of the month, the children were able to take home their very own Coleus plant.  The Coleus plant has been a fixture in the center for a few years and has continued to produce offspring for the children to take home.

Week of the Young Child…

This week, April 24th through April 28th, we will be celebrating our favorite little people–Our Children!  Each day will be centered around the theme of STEAM.  STEAM is an approach to education that emphasizes the integral role of arts and creativity in the learning process for Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math. Check out our flyer for more information on what our teachers are doing to introduce the STEAM learning process to your child.
