Staten Charitable Trust Check Presentation - 2013
The Samuel Staten, Sr. Charitable Trust presented a $20,000 check to the Jenkintown Day Nursery School February 8, 2013. The special presentation took place in the Upper Playhouse in front of JDN staff members and area dignitaries. State Senator LeAnna M. Washington was present to congratulate and thank Mr. Samuel Staten, Jr. who is the Business Manager of Laborers’ Local 332 and the Laborers District Council of the Metropolitan Area of Philadelphia and Vicinity. Just prior to the check presentation, students in our Pre-K classes (rooms 5 & 6) provided some excellent entertainment in the form of poetry and songs under the skillful direction of their teachers Miss Paddy, Miss Sandie, Miss Dolores, and Miss Robin. TV 6 Action News was here to record this very special event.
Santa brings holiday cheer to JDN - 2012
December 13, 2012 – Santa Claus visited Jenkintown Day Nursery with a “Ho, ho, ho,” pizza for everyone, and plenty of presents, accompanied by several members of the Kiwanis Club. Santa spent some time in each classroom and made sure that every child received a wrapped gift. Children accepted the presents with big smiles and eagerness to find out what was inside – but the time to find out would be later on. Each child excitedly placed his or her gift in a cubby so that it could be opened and savored at home. The very special event is generously arranged by the Kiwanis, who donate just the right number of gifts for JDN’s children every year. The club members have a special connection with Santa, who arrives in full beard and fur-trimmed costume right on schedule, every December.

Keeping it Lively
At JDN Harvest Bowl
People were in motion all evening at Jenkintown Day Nursery's Harvest Bowl fundraiser, sending their bowling balls down the lane, celebrating strikes, checking out the wide array of raffle baskets, and choosing from among the many refreshments at hand.
